Nirmal Dutt’s poetry walks gently, like the pure waters of a river nourishing our barren minds. Having seen more seasons than me, his village Bhaddi is near Khanna. Though he taught English, his deep love for Punjabi writers and intellectuals led him to Punjabi poetry. He has published three poetry books: “Main Vee Han,” “Meri Gal Sun Ke Ja,” and “Chanan Di Saltanat,” with a fourth, “Suraj De Alap,” ready for release. Proficient in free verse, ghazal, songs, and doha, he authored a 64-page monograph on atheism, religion, and spirituality. After three decades of teaching English and heading the department, he now teaches online. He also served as the Secretary General of Punjab Arts Council for five years.
